FAQs

Can Chiropractic help me?

Our training allows us to diagnose and treat problems within the neuro-muscular-skeletal systems of the spine and extremities. If you are suffering with nerve, muscle or joint pain, it is likely that you will benefit from chiropractic care. Following your initial consultation and examination, Dr. Wheelock will be able to determine if chiropractic is right for you or if you should treat with another healthcare professional. Dr. Wheelock’s training also allows him to make recommendations that can benefit your overall health. Areas such as diet, postural correction, exercise/stretching routines and stress management are often part of our patients’ treatment and health plans.

What can I expect during my first appointment?

During your first office appointment Dr. Wheelock will become familiar with how he may help you. Whether you are suffering with pain, or you have goals to stay healthy and pain free, Dr. Wheelock with review any diagnostic tests you have had, take a thorough health history after an examination of the neuro-muscular-skeletal system will be performed. From there Dr. Wheelock will discuss with you which treatment options are best to achieve your goals.

Will it be necessary to have an MRI or X-rays done?

Dr. Wheelock will determine if additional studies are needed in order to assess your condition following your consultation and examination.

How many appointments will it take to feel better?

Most of our patients feel relief following their first appointment. However, there are many factors involved in determining the length of time it will take to get you back to 100%. Things like: the patient’s age, the overall health of the patient, the overall health of the spine, the degree of injury the patient is suffering with all play a role. Following your first appointment you will have an individualized treatment plan developed based on your presentation and needs, and you will know how long your treatment should take.

Once I begin Chiropractic care will I need to continue forever?

This depends on your goals and how you wish to utilize our services. Whether it is short term recovery form pain or long term wellness care and prevention of disease, Wheelock Chiropractic is committed to assisting our patients at all stages of health management.
